Everyday Events

Timebox isn’t just for collecting important or special events and memories.Steve Winwood and Wood Brothers concert It’s also great for just collecting everyday events as they happen.

We went to a concert last night here in Seattle and between bands I made a Timebox entry for the concert on my iPhone. I first included a couple photos of the first band. Then when we got home, I added a couple more photos I took of the second band. I shared a copy of the entry page with my brother and a friend because they’re both fans of the bands too.

Here’s what my entry looks like, even though my new iPhone 5 camera had a little trouble with the contrast of the stage lighting (tap the thumbnail to see the actual PDF that I shared):

See It, Show It, Share It

One of the best things about using Timebox so far is the ability to bring my digital stuff with me. I have Timebox on both my iPad and iPhone 5; when I tell a story about our dog Clover, I can easily locate the photo that goes with the story.

Last Summer, I got into the habit of adding my stories and pictures to Timebox and then sending the PDF pages to my friends and family. What I didn’t really realize at the time was how easy it was for everyone to open the PDF and read it — no passwords required. Since the data is on my device, I don’t even need Internet access to see it.

I know people back up their stuff on their home computers and then onto other media but then how do they see it, share it or add to it? With Timebox you can take it all with you.

For fun here is my  Clover Timebox page.

Our Company Values

The response to the launch of Timebox has been excellent and we have received some great feedback. Thank you!

There have been some questions regarding privacy, confidentiality and advertising.  You can read our complete privacy policy but at a fundamental level this is what we believe as a company:

  • Privacy comes first. The data in your Timebox is yours and only yours. Even if something happens to our company, you will always have your data because it is stored on your own devices.

  • Your personal information will never be shared unless you explicitly share it with someone that you specify (for example, using the Share button).

  • We will never have any ads and we will never share your personal information with any advertisers. That has been a core value throughout all of our companies (this is our 3rd startup).

We are working on version 1.1 of Timebox and will release it soon. In the meantime, we hope you are having fun creating your archive of stories with Timebox. We would love to hear from you. All comments, feedback and suggestions are welcome.

Here’s a tip: You can add things that you want to do in the future to your Timebox. Just chose a future date when you are filling in your template. It will appear on the future date on both your Timeline and Yearbook.
