Everyday Experiments: Full Bloom

This is a very cool video commissioned by Apple to "Celebrate spring’s colors, life, and growth with iPhone 12."

The creators Donghoon J. and James T. of Incite, experiment with flowers, fruits, water, mushrooms, vegetables, pruners, highlighter markers, string, tape and other materials to demonstrate camera techniques for Stop Motion, Slo-mo and Time-lapse.

We think it might be harder than it looks but we're still inspired and maybe you will be too.

Great performance of Timebox on the new M1 chip macBook

Performance of my new MacBook Air with an M1 chip is so refreshing. GPU is amazing. Timebox 3D collages like this easily run at 60 frames-per-second in full screen (vs about 25 fps for my old 2018 MacBook Pro).

If you haven't heard about Kati Kariko you need to know this - she is one of the superheros of Covid-19 vaccine development.

The New York Times has a great article about her and her work on the the vaccine.

"Her work, with her close collaborator, Dr. Drew Weissman of the University of Pennsylvania, laid the foundation for the stunningly successful vaccines made by Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna."

Fortunately for all of us she persevered through many personal and professional challenges to solve the puzzle to make the vaccine.

"On Nov. 8, the first results of the Pfizer-BioNTech study came in, showing that the mRNA vaccine offered powerful immunity to the new virus. Dr. Kariko turned to her husband. “Oh, it works,” she said. “I thought so.”
