Movie Maker 3D (formerly Timebox Movie Maker 3D) is an app that makes it simple for everyone to create realistic, animated movies and videos with multiple scenes, hundreds of programmable 3D models, custom avatars and more.

Begin creating the project of your imagination by choosing one of the dozens of templates. Most templates include scene designs. animated 3D models and built-in avatars but one is blank if you want to start there.

Customize the scenes to match your vision by adding and animating any of the hundreds of 3D models or your own 3D (USDZ & GLB) models, adding custom avatars with your own voice clips and face animations then complete the look of the scene with colors, ground features, a different sky, background sounds and more.

Tap the Record button to shoot, share and save a video of the scene. Combine your scene shots and videos into multi-shot movies for fun or for work.

AR (iOS only) provides an exciting way to see your scenes and shoot 3D movies and videos with super realistic backgrounds and lighting.

3D AVATARS

Movie Maker 3D directly integrates the Ready Player Me Avatar creator to enable making multiple avatars and customizing them with any of the hundreds of optimized body movement animations and outfits including choices of facial features, hair, clothing, eyewear, hats, etc.

Movie Maker 3D also provides dozens of body animation clips, the ability for you to add your own full-body character animations, captured from professional motion actors from Mixamo.com plus the capability to record your own voice and facial movements via AR (iOS only).

You can also choose from many different voices and accents and then use Text to Speech to have your avatar model speak in the new voice.

3D MOVIES AND VIDEOS

It’s easy for anyone to make a video with Movie Maker 3D. Get the free Beach Day template from the Project list and customize the dog or cat to make your own version of the video.

Tap on the dog or the cat, then tap the paintbrush, then tap animations. The animals already have one model clip. Tap Clip to Play to change the animation. Tap the More button to Undo, Redo, Copy Paste and more. Tap the + sign for more 3D models.

When you’re happy with your video, tap the Record button, then Share and Save it.

Augmented Reality (AR)

AR (iOS only) provides an exciting way to shoot movies and videos of your 3D scenes with super realistic backgrounds and lighting.

With AR, the scene's environment is replaced with your real environment by the camera on your iPad or iPhone letting you see your Movie Maker 3D scenes in the real world.

Simply tap the AR button To:

  • Explore a virtual campsite scene placed on your real desk.

  • Show avatars in your actual kitchen.

  • Place a virtual backyard scene with the swimming pool, grill and toys in your own real yard.

  • Place a virtual concert stage scene including avatar actors, picnic tables and seats on the real grass in your local park.

  • Add a virtual castle scene with dragons and flags to your favorite real woodland.

COLLABORATION & SYNC

Invite your team to collaborate with you to make your movies and videos. Any of your Movie Maker 3D projects can be optionally shared privately and securely with your team members via iCloud.

Everyone to whom you give permission can design and customize scenes by animating 3D models, creating and adding their own avatars, recording dialog and shooting video scenes.

The group's work is shared via iCloud to participants devices in realtime so editing and creativity can happen fast. Conflicts can happen - first come, first served.

For longevity, privacy and security Movie Maker 3D syncs and shares across your iPhones, iPads and Macs and is designed for both online and offline use.

Movie & Video sharing

Share your Movie Maker 3D animated movies, videos and still images via Mail, Messages, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and other social media.

Full featured on all platforms - iPhone, iPad and Mac. Movie Maker 3D is a FREE app and includes 569 free and premium 3D models, 62 scene templates and avatars:

  • Premium 3D models typically cost $0.99 or $1.99 USD.

  • Premium templates are $1.99 or $2.99 USD and include between 4 to 10 premium models.

  • A Movie Maker 3D subscription costs $1.49 USD per month or $14.99 USD per year and provides unlimited use of ALL premium templates and 3D models without additional charge.

  • A subscription can be canceled at any time. If cancelled, all your scenes, models and stories CONTINUE to be available to you and the people you've shared them with.
